Akrotiri & surroundings
Akrotiri means the edge of a land that penetrates deep into the sea. Akrotiri was the first inhabited area of Santorini. It became famous from its interesting and unique civilisation which evolved during 4500BC. From the prehistoric city, the Red beach, the medieval castle till the lighthouse where one can admire one of the most spectacular sunsets on the island.
Spilia caves are only 400m. away from the center of the village, less than 10 minutes walk. 2,5klm away from the prehistoric city & Red beach.
